Jessica Lang's Garden Blue combines the beauty of nature and dance. The striking costumes and interactive sets were designed by Brooklyn artist Sarah Crowner. This unique collaboration is described as “sculptural and lyrical” by DanceTabs’s Marina Harss.

Sarah Crowner's inspiration for the set of Garden Blue was a Samara, also known as a Maple Seed and Helicopter Pod. A samara is a type of dry fruit where one seed is surrounded by double-winged papery tissue that catches wind and helps carry the seed away from the tree.
