La Verità by Michelangelo Pistoletto. From the Mirror to the Third Paradise .
The anthological exhibition at the Municipal Museum of Modern Art presents over 40 works, including paintings, mirror paintings , installations and rare archive images, from 1958 to 2021 . This is the artist 's most comprehensive solo exhibition ever made in Switzerland , with the significant title La Verità by Michelangelo Pistoletto. From the Mirror to the Third Paradise .
The exhibition, curated by Mara Folini and Alberto Fiz , created in collaboration with Cittadellarte - Fondazione Pistoletto , analyzes the creative phases of the artist, from the birth and evolution of mirror paintings , to the renewed linguistic context of the Arte Povera movement , with works paradigmatic such as The Venus of the Rags of 1967, the Brick Wall of 1968, the iconic installations of the Sixties, including Labyrinth in corrugated cardboard from 1969. It continues, then, with the collective and theatrical actionsof the mid-sixties, recalled in a broad and in-depth way through a series of videos and rare photographic materials. Among these, the images that describe the experience of the Zoo, the company created by Pistoletto in 1968 which proposed shows and interventions in contexts unrelated to officialdom. In the center of the long corridor, spectators can have fun moving freely Sphere of newspapers , which re-proposes a historical work belonging to the series of Objects in less, which was already used in 1967 for an action carried out in Turin on the occasion of the exhibition Con temp the action.
