Art Basel 2022

16 - 19 June 2022
At Unlimited, we present Sonia Boyce’s seminal For you, only you (2007), a three-channel video installation that captures in performance the unlikely partnership of early music consort, Alamire, and contemporary sound artist, Mikhail Karikis.

For its participation in Art Basel 2022, Simon Lee Gallery is pleased to present a booth of new and existing works by artists from the gallery programme, including Sonia Boyce, Angela Bulloch, Serge Attukwei Clottey, George Condo, Bernard Frize, Rachel Howard, Donna Huddleston, Yun Hyong-keun, William Mackinnon, France-Lise McGurn, Josephine Meckseper, A'Driane Nieves, Claudio Parmiggiani, Georg Karl Pfahler, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Jim Shaw, Chibuike Uzoma, Clare Woods, and Toby Ziegler, alongside works by icons of modern and contemporary art, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Cy Twombly, Philip Guston, Ed Ruscha, and Christopher Wool.

Highlights include a suite of works that belong to Sonia Boyce’s recently opened commission for the British Pavilion at the 59th Biennale di Venezia. New works by Clare Woods and France-Lise McGurn sit alongside a historic 1960s painting by Georg Karl Pfahler. Making their first appearance at Art Basel as part of the Simon Lee Gallery programme are Donna Huddleston and Josephine Meckseper, who present a new drawing and vitrine sculpture respectively. Also making their debuts are Serge Attukwei Clottey, A'Driane Nieves, and Chibuike Uzoma.
