Dallas Art Fair Online 2020

14 - 23 April 2020
Dallas Art Fair Online | Online Viewing Room

Simon Lee Gallery is delighted to participate in the first Dallas Art Fair Online with a presentation of new and recent works by gallery artists, many of whom have an existing relationship with the city of Dallas, including Mel Bochner, Eric N. Mack, Claudio Parmiggiani, Mai-Thu Perret, Gary Simmons and Clare Woods. All masters of their own innovative approaches to art-making, the individual practices of this select group of artists constantly provide fresh perspectives on subject, medium and material.

Dallas is home to site-specific, large-scale installations by Bochner, Simmons and Woods, which bring their conceptual yet painterly practices into the heart of the local community. Exhibiting new ceramic works, Perret continues her enquiry into the vernacular of Modernism that she explored in her show at the Nasher Sculpture Center in 2016. Following on from his critically acclaimed exhibition at the Power Station in October 2019, Mack presents one of his signature fabric works, that transforms the definition of both painting and sculpture.

Also included are works by Angela Bulloch, Donna Huanca, Alex Hubbard, France-Lise McGurn and Toby Ziegler, all presented by Simon Lee Gallery at Dallas Art Fair for the first time. Each of these artists inhabits a world entirely their own, characterised by idiosyncratic forms of personal expression; from the fluid, dream-like realm inhabited by McGurn’s archetypal figures or Huanca’s gestural, performance-enriched practice, to Bulloch, Ziegler and Hubbard’s individual and unique interpretations of digital imaging as it relates to the canonical modes of art making.
